Signing up for Start A Snowball programs might require the disclosure of additional information beyond what is required to “join Start A Snowball.” Please note: we do not require disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary in order for users to use any function on the Website.
There are several areas on our Website where we request information from you. If you register to use any limited access portion of the Website, we use the information you provide to deliver the services that you request. Protection of Children’s Information
It is our intention to make this Website a safe environment on the Internet for children, youth, and adults to explore volunteering and community service. We involve parents and legal guardians in, and to keep them informed of, the online activities of their children.
In compliance with The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, Start A Snowball endeavors to make sure that all parents/guardians are informed about how we collect, use, and disclose any and all personal information collected from children under the age of 13. At this time SAS requires that in order for users to share personally identifiable information users be 13 years of age or older.
Children of all ages may view and explore the Website without submitting any personal information. However, participation in certain online activities (including submitting a story about volunteer experiences) requires that users be 13 years of age or older and attest to that prior to submitting a form.
Please note: To share a story or apply for a grant all users must be 13 years of age or older. For anyone under the age of 13 they will need their parent’s help to complete these forms
We will use personally identifiable information from our online form submittal to send users information about this Website, Start A Snowball and its various projects and initiatives, or to communicate with users about a project in which you are participating..
