Birthday Mountain – Recognizing Kids That Give Instead of Receive on Their Birthdays
A birthday collection drive is a very easy, yet very powerful project for children. Children can choose to give up receiving birthday presents in exchange for the best feeling in the world by using their own celebration as an opportunity for kids philanthropy! Please Share Your Story of your philanthropic child and their special birthday projects or any other time to have it featured on our website and inspire other kids.
We want to recognize kids that give and their achievements when it comes to using their birthday as a chance to give back.
- William asked guests at his birthday party in January of 2013 to bring food for his school’s Backpack Buddies program instead of presents and collected 300 pounds of food!! This sparked another project a couple months later that has truly turned into a snowball!
- Maggie from Apex, NC is a great example of kids that give. She had a pet adoption themed party and asked for donations to a local cat rescue organization, Alley Cats and Angels, in lieu of gifts.
- On March 1st, 2014, Charly and Fiona, in celebration of turning 4, chose to spread their joy to other little girls. Instead of having their party guests bring presents, the girls requested that the VIP ticket to their rock star party be a book for the girls at the Home of Hope orphanage in India. The overwhelming generosity of their guests allowed the girls to collect over 50 books for donation
